Vietnam in fourth place overall at Asian Aquatics Championships 2025
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese team concluded the Asian Aquatics Championships 2025 in India on October 2 with 2 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze medals, finishing fourth overall – the best-ever result at a continental-level championship.

Nguyen Huy Hoang emerged as Vietnam’s standout performer, winning two gold medals in long-distance freestyle disciplines.
In the men’s 800-meter freestyle, the 24-year-old clocked 7 minutes 57.58 seconds to finish first, ahead of Uzbekistan’s Sibirtsev (8:00.37) and China’s Haibo Xu (8:02.34).
Hoang also triumphed in the men’s 1,500-meter freestyle with a time of 15 minutes 15.01 seconds.
In addition to Huy Hoang’s success, rising star Nguyen Kha Nhi earned a silver medal in the women’s 400m freestyle, finishing in 4 minutes 25.50 seconds.
Another milestone for Vietnam at this championship was the team’s first-ever bronze medal in the mixed 4x100m medley relay, achieved by Tran Hung Nguyen, Pham Thanh Bao, Vo Thi My Tien, and Nguyen Thuy Hien, with a time of 3 minutes 55.97 seconds.
The top three positions went to China (28 golds); Japan (5 golds) and Hong Kong – China (3 golds).
