Three more silver medals for Vietnam at Asian Aquatics Championships 2025

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese swimming team continued to take three silver and three bronze medals at the ongoing Asian Aquatic Championships in India on September 30.

Vo Thi My Tien won a silver medal in the women’s 800m freestyle. She finished second after clocking 8’54”43, behind gold medalist Haruno Tanimoto of Japan with a time of 8’47”48.

Tien then competed in the final round of 200m individual medley and secured a bronze medal with 2’15”96.

Earlier, she clinched one silver medal in the women’s 200m freestyle. She has become the only female member of the Vietnamese swimming team to win three medals in three consecutive competition days.

For the men’s categories, Nguyen Huy Hoang pocketed a silver medal in the men’s 400m freestyle with a time of 3:51.63.

In the final race of the men's 100m breaststroke, Pham Thanh Bao finished second and got a silver medal with a time of 1'01"08.

Other two bronze medals went to Nguyen Thuy Hien in the women’s 100m freestyle, and Tran Hung Nguyen in the men’s 200m individual medley.

The Asian Aquatics Championships 2025 is running in India from September 28 to October 10. So far, swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang has secured the first gold medal for Vietnam in the men’s 1,500m freestyle.
