VOV.VN - Vietnam’s national women’s football team has retained its 37th position in the latest FIFA world rankings, remaining the top-ranked side in Southeast Asia despite not playing any matches during the recent FIFA Days.

According to the rankings released by FIFA on June 12, Vietnam earned 1,614.43 points, maintaining its global standing.

Within the region, the Philippines (41st), Thailand (46th), and Myanmar (55th) continued to trail behind Vietnam. Across Asia, Vietnam ranked sixth overall, behind Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Australia, China, and the Republic of Korea.

Globally, the US topped the list with 2,057.19 points, followed by Spain, Germany, and Brazil.

Vietnam will have a chance to improve its position during the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers (Group E), scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 5 at Viet Tri Stadium in northern Phu Tho province.

The team is expected to secure wins against Maldives (ranked 163rd), the United Arab Emirates (117th), and Guam (97th). The next FIFA women’s world rankings are set to be released on August 7.
