Vietnam holds draws with strong rivals at Chess Olympiad
VOV.VN -Vietnamese female and male grandmasters successfully earned draws with their strong opponents at the tenth round of the ongoing Chess Olympiad in Batumi, Georgia.

The team will have the chance to earn higher rankings if they defeat the Philippines (11th place) in the last round.
The Vietnamese female team also held a 2-2 draw against Hungary. Vo Thi Kim Phung (Elo 2368) lost to her Hungarian rival Hoang Thanh Trang (Elo 2423), while Pham Le Thao Nguyen (Elo 2347) beat Gara Anita (Elo 2370).
Meanwhile, other female players drew with their rivals, bringing the 14th place to the team, that is set to meet Azerbaijan (11th place) in the eleventh round.
Vietnamese sponsor Nama Bank presented US$10,000 to the Vietnamese chess team in praise of their impressive performance.
