Vietnam grabs 17 medals at Asian Youth Xiangqi Championship

VOV.VN - Vietnamese team won a total of 17 medals at the Asian Youth Xiangqi (Chinese chess) Championship Vietnam Open, which wrapped up in Ha Long city in the northeastern Quang Ninh province on December 20.

After the four(4) days of competition, Vietnamese chess masters successfully earned medals in all three events, including standard, rapid and blitz.

According to Vice Chairman of Vietnam Xiangqi Federation Doan Quoc Chinh, through the tournament, Vietnamese outstanding chess players will be selected to train for the ASIAD 2020.

This year, the Xiangqi championship attracted nearly 100 players from China, Taipei (China), Singapore, Macau (China), and the host Vietnam, competing in several categories for boys and girls in seven different age groups ranging from 7 to 20.
