Vietnam finish seventh at Asian Cup

Vietnam defeated the Republic of Korea 25-17, 25-27, 23-25, 25-18, 15-8 to place seventh at the Asian Volleyball Confederation Cup for Women on September 20 in Vinh Phuc Province.

The hosts went ahead twice in the first and third sets before the Koreans systematically fought back in the second and fourth sets.

The final set, however, saw the Vietnamese display a strong performance to quickly wrap up the match.

The final tally, however, did not meet the host nation’s expectation, who thought they would be at the No. 5 spot.

In the earlier match, Chinese Taipei beat Iran 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22 to secure the fifth position.

The final match and third-place playoff results will be updated later.
