Vietnam fields 20 kickboxers to world championships in UAE
VOV.VN - Twenty Vietnamese athletes arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on November 21 to begin their competition at the World Kickboxing Championships for Masters and Seniors held in Abu Dhabi.
Vu Duc Thinh, President of the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation, said the 2025 World Championship gathers many leading kickboxers in the globe, providing an opportunity for local athletes to hone their skills ahead of international tournaments.
Among outstanding athletes is kickboxer Le Thi Nhi who won a gold medal at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32) in 2023 in the women's 50kg light contact division.
Last year, Nhi brought home a gold medal at the 2024 Asian Kickboxing Championships.
Abu Dhabi is scheduled to host the World Kickboxing Championships for Masters and Seniors from November 21 to 30. This marks the first time the championship will be staged outside Europe and in the Middle East, with the participation of 2,000 athletes representing 150 countries worldwide.
