VOV.VN -Thanks to passionate home supporters, Vietnam ranked fifth among teams competing at the AFF Cup for attendance during the group stages of the tournament, according to the FOX Sports Asia’s statistics
The first placed team of Fox Asia’s rankings is Malaysia who came out on top for attendance figures with 95,904 fans flocking to see them across their two home games. The attendance at the National Stadium during their second home match was 83,777 fans — the highest recorded attendance so far at this year’s AFF Suzuki Cup. |
Thailand ranked second with 67,333 fans across two home matches. |
Cambodia are in third place with 59,435 home fans turning out for their matches against Malaysia and Laos. |
The fourth position went to Myanmar who saw 56,900 football fans attend their home games at the Mandalarthiri Stadium in Madalay and the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. |
Vietnam came in fifth place with 54,000 football supporters attending games at the My Dinh National Stadium and the Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi. |
Singapore ranked sixth place with 49,191 fans across two home matches. |
Indonesia enjoyed unusually underwhelming home support and came in seventh place with 30,574 fans. |
This is followed by minnows Laos with 16,294 home fans, Timor-Leste with 9,076, and the Philippines, Vietnam’s next opponents, with 7,849. |
