Vietnam continue to slide down FIFA world rankings
VOV.VN - After suffering two defeats at the hands of Russia and Thailand during the LPBank 2024 international friendly tournament, the Vietnam national football team have fallen down one place in the latest FIFA world rankings which were updated on September 19.
Due to the recent losses, Vietnam were deducted 6.64 points, dropping to 116th on 1,161.5 points.
Compared to September last year, Vietnam has dropped a total of 21 places.
Meanwhile, the victory over Vietnam helped Thailand to rise one notch in the ranking and return to the world's top 100. Indonesia also climbed four places to reach 129th place after two draws against Saudi Arabia and Australia in the third round of qualifying in the Asia region for the 2026 World Cup.
Argentina still top the rankings, followed by France and Spain.
