Vietnam consider playing friendly against Thailand in Hong Kong (China)

VOV.VN - The Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) has invited several national teams, including those from Thailand and Vietnam, to play a series of friendly matches in March.

According to details given by Pui Kwan Kay, chairman of the HKFA, the association will send invitations to three national teams from the Southeast Asian region, including Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.

In the latest FIFA rankings, Hong Kong (China) were placed at 146th in the world, while Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore were placed 96th, 111st, and 158th, respectively.

The upcoming friendly matches will help Hong Kong (China) to prepare for the finals of the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup which is scheduled to get underway in Qatar in January, 2024.

The regional tournament will involve the participation of 24 teams, including Vietnam and those who made it to the third qualification round of the Asian zone for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
