Vietnam compete in first international baseball tournament
VOV.VN - Vietnamese baseball players took on hosts Laos in Vientiane on February 244, kick-starting the Indochina Dream League 2023 international baseball tournament (DBG 2023).
Entering the game, nine Vietnamese players in their white jersey showed great concentration to prevent the attacker from scoring.
They received enthusiastic cheering from both Vietnamese and Lao fans, however the game ultimately ended in favour of the Lao side.
This marks the team's first international tournament since the Vietnam Baseball and Softball Federation was established in April 2021.
The Indochina Dream League 2023 is considered a test for Vietnam ahead of their competition at the 2023 Asian Games which is scheduled to take place in Hangzhou, China, in September.
The DBG 2023 from February 24 to 26 involves four teams, namely Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam that are competing in a round-robin format. Vietnam will play against Cambodia and Thailand on February 25 and February 26, respectively.
