Vietnam claims Southeast Asian women's indoor handball championship title
VOV.VN - The national women’s handball team secured a gold medal in the indoor event at the 2025 Southeast Asian Handball Championships, which concluded on February 10 in Thailand.
After defeating Indonesia in the semi-finals, Vietnam advanced to the final against hosts Thailand.
In the decisive match, the Vietnamese team dominated with a convincing 31-26 victory, securing the championship title in the Southeast Asian women’s indoor handball competition.
In the men's event, Vietnam faced regional rivals Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, and hosts Thailand in a round-robin format. They ultimately claimed the silver medal after a hard-fought 40-34 loss to Thailand in the final.
Looking ahead, the team will continue competing in beach handball matches scheduled for February 11 and 12.
With intensive training throughout the Lunar New Year, the Vietnamese players are determined to deliver their best performance and aim for two gold medals in the regional tournament.
