Vietnam bags silvers at world muaythai event

Vietnamese martial artists have returned home with two silver medals from the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur World Championships in Mexico.

Nguyen Doan Long lost to Mark Valovich of Russia 28-29 in the final of the men’s 51kg category, while another Vietnamese representative, Bui Yen Ly, also lost to Josefin Lindgren Knutsson of Sweden in the women’s 51kg final with the same score.

Vietnam won two gold medals at the same event held last year in Belarus.

This year’s event, which lasted nine days, attracted the participation of more than 1,000 martial artists from 80 countries and territories around the world.
