Vietnam and RoK sign MoU on sports training

VOV.VN - Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) relating to sports training, to promote international sports cooperation between the two countries in the future.

The cooperation document was signed in Seoul on December 6 by representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Olympic Committee, and the International Sport Strategy Foundation of the RoK during a State-level visit to the RoK by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Under the MoU, the two sides will discuss joint initiatives to increase knowledge about sports, strengthen exchanges of managers, expert, coaches, and athletes, and train professional athletes in Vietnam.

Recent years has seen management agencies from the RoK support the development of Vietnamese sports, such as taekwondo, bicycle, archery, and football. Many Korean experts, including coach Park Hang-seo, have been working in Vietnam, making positive contributions to local sports 

Both sides agreed to devise specific action plans, and the International Sport Strategy Foundation is expected to swiftly set up its representative office in Vietnam to carry out bilateral cooperation activities.
