VFF cancels six football tournaments this year

VOV.VN - A total of six national football tournaments across the country have been cancelled due to complicated developments relating to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, as announced on October 4 by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

As a result, the Asanzo Second League 2021 will finish after the first leg concludes.

The other five tournaments being cancelled include the National U15 Football Championship, the U17 Football Championship, the Third League, the Women’s Futsal Championship, and the Beach Soccer Championship, all of which won’t run this year.

Elsewhere, two major futsal tournaments, the HDBank National Futsal Championship and HDBank Futsal National Cup, will run as scheduled.

Similarly, youth football tournaments for the U9, U11, U13, and U21 age groups will still be held this year despite the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

The remaining matches in the Vietnamese Women's Football Championship will now take place in 2022.

This comes following both the V.League 1 and the V.League 2 being cancelled, with no champion or relegation this year.
