At the AFF meeting in Phnom Penh on September 11, the AFF approved Vietnam’s proposal to change the venue as at that time, the National Sports Festival will be underway at My Dinh Stadium.

Hang Day Stadium has a capacity of 20,000 seats and the football pitch and stands have just been renovated.  At the AFF Cup 1998, all the Group B matches were held at the stadium.

This year, the AFF Suzuki Cup will feature a new playing format, with both home and away ties. The Vietnamese team is in Group A.

Vietnam will face Laos in their first match on November 8. The country's second match will be against Malaysia on November 16 at My Dinh Stadium.

Four days later, on November 20, the national team will play Myanmar.
