U23 Vietnam win U20 RoK 1-0 in a rematch

VOV.VN - Striker Van Tung’s only goal in the 45th minute helped U23 Vietnam outplay U20 RoK in a rematch in Hanoi on April 22.

Three days after their 1-1 draw in Viet Tri city, U23 Vietnam and U20 RoK faced off again in a friendly at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi capital.

Vietnamese players did not perform as well as expected though stars such as Hung Dung, Tien Linh and Hoang Duc were sent in at the beginning. However, they seemed not to coordinate well with their juniors in attacks.

Unexpectedly in the 45th minute, the RoK defenders missed Hoang Anh’s cross, creating an opportunity for Van Tung to finish from the center of the penalty area, putting Vietnam ahead.

After the break, the two teams started making substitutions. In the first 20 minutes, Tien Linh had a few opportunities to threaten the opponent’s goal, but the Vietnamese striker missed all.

The RoK players rose up in the other second half, putting great pressure on Van Chuan’s goal. However, they did not succeed in seeking an equalizer, and the match ended with a 1-0 victory in favour of hosts Vietnam.
