U23 Vietnam to regroup in late August for AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers
VOV.VN - Following their triumphant run at the 2025 AFF U23 Championship, U23 Vietnam will soon return to action as they prepare for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers.

The team clinched their third consecutive regional title in Indonesia, setting an unprecedented record in the tournament’s history.
Speaking to the media, head coach Kim Sang Sik said, “The players gave their all and truly deserve this championship. More importantly, they’ve gained valuable experience for the road ahead.”
Coach Kim also noted that the coaching staff would continue analyzing key regional opponents such as Thailand and Indonesia in preparation for upcoming campaigns, including the AFC U23 qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games.
According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the team will reconvene in late August 2025 ahead of the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers.
As per the official draw, Vietnam has been placed in Group C alongside Yemen, Singapore, and Bangladesh. In addition to what appears to be a favorable group, Vietnam will also enjoy home advantage.
All Group C matches are set to take place at Viet Tri Stadium in northern Phu Tho province from September 3 to 9. This gives coach Kim Sang Sik’s side a golden opportunity to secure a spot at the final tournament, scheduled for January 2026.
