U17 Vietnam begins training camp ahead of World Cup 2026

VOV.VN - The Vietnam U17 national team will begin a training camp on September 20 to prepare for the historic 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup.

The initial group of nine players comes from the PVF Football Training Center, following strong performances in recent domestic and international competitions, including winning the national U17 championship and the New Generation Cup, and finishing as runners-up at the 2026 K-League Asian Youth Championship in Jeju.

Head coach Cristiano Roland retained several key players from the squad that competed in the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup, alongside three new additions from PVF.

Standouts include goalkeeper Nguyen Viet Dung, named Best Goalkeeper at the national U17 tournament, and striker Le Sy Bach, who claimed the tournament's Best Player award.

Goalkeeper Ly Xuan Hoa also rejoins the squad following a recovery from an injury sustained in June, having previously earned Best Player honors at the New Generation Cup.
