U17 team beats Oman in friendly match ahead of AFC U17 Asian Cup

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese national U17 football team enjoyed their victory over Oman in a friendly match played on March 25 as part of their warm up ahead of the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup’s finals.

Vietnamese striker Bui Duy Dang scored the only goal of the match in the 82nd minute.

The match provided both teams with an opportunity to experiment with their lineups and tactics.

As planned, they will face each other again in a friendly on March 28 before heading into the upcoming continental tournament.

At the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup, Vietnam find themselves in a challenging group alongside four-time champions Japan, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The tournament will take place from April 3 to April 20 in Saudi Arabia, featuring 16 teams split into four groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals, securing a spot at the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.
