Two cueists to represent Vietnam at 2026 World Team 3-Cushion Championship

VOV.VN - Two representatives, Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu, will compete for Vietnam as defending runners-up at the 2026 World Team 3-Cushion Championship, set for February 26 to March 1 in Viersen, Germany.

The tournament marks its 38th edition and features 16 teams in the final round, including Jordan, Colombia, Japan, Turkiye, Germany, Vietnam, France, Mexico, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Spain, Egypt, the Republic of Korea and the US.

Vietnam were drawn in Group B alongside hosts Germany (Martin Horn, Amir Ibraimov), France (Jeremy Bury, Mikael Devogelaere) and Mexico (Christian Hernandez, Alejandro Santiago).

Teams will face each other in group-stage pairings, with the top two sides advancing to the knockout round. Matches are played to 40 points. Vietnam open their campaign on February 26 against Mexico.

A notable change from the previous two editions sees Thanh Tu replace Bao Phuong Vinh as Quyet Chien’s partner.

In 2024, Quyet Chien and Phuong Vinh defeated Belgium in the final to win Vietnam’s first title. They reached the final again in 2025 but finished runners-up after losing to the Netherlands.
