Tickets for Vietnam-Singapore match sold out in just three hours
VOV.VN - All tickets for the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup semi-final between Singapore and Vietnam have been sold out in just three hours.
Although the tickets for the return leg were announced to go on sale at 8AM on December 27, thousands of fans had already lined up the day before in hopes of securing tickets to watch the December 29 match.
Security forces were subsequently mobilised at the PhuTho Sports Center in Viet Tri City where the match will take place, to set up additional mobile barriers to maintain order.
Each fan was allowed to purchase a maximum of two tickets. There were three ticket prices on offer - VND300,000 (US$11.80), VND500,000, and VND600,000, double the rates for the group-stage matches.
At 11 a.m., the organising board announced that all the tickets had been sold out.
A number of Vietnamese fans were unable to hide their disappointment when they could not buy tickets to watch the match.
Vietnam defeated Singapore 2-0 in their away match on December 26 evening, helping to open the door for the former to advance to the finals.
Statistics show Vietnam’s 2-0 win over Singapore on their home ground in the first leg of the 2024 AFF Cup semifinals helped the former extend their unbeaten streak against their opponents to 26 years.
Both strikers Tien Linh and Xuan Son scored goals, and experts believed that the collaboration between the two strikers made the difference.
