Thirteen domestic, foreign teams to compete in cycling open
Domestic and foreign teams will compete at the National Women's Cycling Open in HO Chi Minh City on July 19.
The domestic teams include Gao Hat Ngoc Troi-An Giang, An Giang Plant Protection, Vinamit Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long and VTV Can Tho. The Republic of Korea's Samyang, Indonesia's Customs and Thailand will also partake in the six-stage event.
Defending champion Nguyen Thi That (Gao Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang), Nguyen Thuy Dung (Biwase-Binh Duong) and Pham Thi Thuy Lien (Vinamit-Ho Chi Minh City) are top candidates for the yellow jersey.
That is favourite having won gold at the Southeast Asian Games.
Cyclists will pass through the provinces and cities of Long An, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau and Kien Giang.
The event close on July 24 with a grand prize of VND160 million (US$7,600).
