Thailand selects venue for World Cup 2022 qualifiers

VOV.VN -The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has chosen the Thammasat stadium as the location for the fixture between Vietnam and Thailand which will take place in the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup, according to Siam Sports.

The match between the two countries is scheduled to take place on September 5.

Thammasat stadium is on Thammasat University's Rangsit campus in Rangsit city. Built in 1998, the stadium has a total capacity of 25,000 seats and comes up to FIFA standards. The stadium will also host matches in the 2020 AFC U23 Championship.

Thammasat is now the home stadium of Thai League runners-up Bangkok United.

Previously, Hanoi FC beat Bangkok United 1-0 in the stadium on February 12 during the Preliminary Stages of the AFC Champions League.
