Techcombank Ironman 2019 officially launched
Registration for the fifth annual Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship 2019 tournament has officially kicked off.
The total prize for professional athletes at the tournament is US$75,000.
Besides the main prize, the organising board also offers 50 tickets to compete in Ironman 70.3 World Champion in Nice, France for the best athletes.
The website of the tournament http://asia.ironman.com/ has been opened to participants.
The tournament, which will be held from May 9 to 12 of 2019 in Danang City, is expected to attract over 2,230 athletes coming from 56 nations and territories. Six hundred-thirty Vietnamese participants are expected to compete.
All athletes must be 18 or older on race day, including all team members.
Radka Vodičková, defending champion of two tournaments of 2018, including Techcombank Ironman 70.3 Vietnam and Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Champ, has confirmed plans to compete in the tournament next year.
Techcombank Ironman 2019 is a triathlon in which participants will be treated to a fast and scenic course that begins with a 1.9km ocean swim in front of the beautiful Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, host hotel and race central.
From there, athletes will enjoy a scenic two-loop 90km bike course on smooth, well paved roads that run along Danang's pristine coastline and past some of the city´s key landmarks. The final 21km out-and-back run course is flat and passes by many of Danang's famous beach resorts before returning to the Hyatt for a stunning beachfront finish.
