Techcombank HCM City Int’l Marathon 2025 set for December
VOV.VN - After seven successful editions, the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon is set to return for its 8th season from December 5–7 this year as part of the Ho Chi Minh City River Festival, according to the municipal Department of Culture and Sports.

The 2025 edition is expected to draw more than 18,000 runners from across Vietnam and around the world, continuing its legacy as a premier community sporting event and reinforcing Ho Chi Minh City’s position on the global marathon map.
This year’s race course will guide participants through 17 of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Ba Son Bridge. The route not only challenges athletes’ endurance but also offers an immersive cultural experience, showcasing the dynamic energy, rich heritage, and architectural beauty of Vietnam’s southern metropolis.
In addition to the Ho Chi Minh City race, the Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon will also return for its fourth edition on October 5, taking runners past 37 of the capital’s historic and cultural landmarks.
Nguyen Nam Nhan, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, said since its inception in 2017, the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon has become a hallmark community sports event, bringing together government agencies, businesses, and citizens to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
“More than a sporting event, the marathon has become a platform for unity, a celebration of community pride, and a catalyst for promoting a healthy, active lifestyle among citizens,” stressed Nhan.
He highlighted that the race has consistently grown in both scale and quality, bringing together government agencies, businesses, and the wider public. It plays a key role in the city's sports development strategy and contributes to social cohesion and public well-being.
“The marathon also serves as a powerful promotional tool for Ho Chi Minh City,” Nhan added. “It helps position the city as an attractive international destination and a regional hub for sporting events. We are committed to elevating the event to new heights, aiming to establish it as one of Southeast Asia’s leading community marathons, aligned with our goals for sustainable development and global outreach.”
