Swimmers given a hero’s welcome home from SEA Games 29

VOV.VN - Vietnamese swimmers returning home are receiving hero's welcomes after amassing 10 gold medals and 22 overall at SEA Games 29 in Malaysia.

Swimming sensation Nguyen Thi Anh Vien is swarmed by friends and family as she returns home on Monday, August 28.

Nearly a dozen adoring friends immediately ran to greet Anh Vien as she steps out at the Noi Ba Airport in Hanoi.

Anh Vien set three records at SEA Games 29 in the backstroke, freestyle and individual medley.

Anh Vien wins eight gold and 10 medals overall in the 12 events she participates.

15-year old Nguyen Kim Son sets a new SEA Games record at 4 minutes 22.12 seconds in the 400m medley. 

Kim Son settles for a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle.

Seventeen-year old Nguyen Huy Hoang breaks a SEA Game record in the 1,500m freestyle.





Le Nguyen Paul wins four bronze medals.

Hoang Quy Phuoc (left) triumphs with three silver medals.

Hoang Quy Phuoc, Tran Duy Khoi, Ngo Dinh Chuyen and Pham Thanh Bao each get one bronze medal.

Le Thi My Hao earns a silver medal in the 200m butterfly.
