| The Korean coach must cut 7 players from the team before the Vietnam U23 squad fly to China to take part in the tournament. Following are 7 footballers who are most at risk of being left at home by coach Park Hang Seo: |

| 1. Minh Long, a Hanoi FC goalkeeper, is sidelined with injury. He may not recover in time to make the trip to China. |

| 2. Van Dai is named in the Vietnam U23 squad. However, coach Park Hang Seo chose not to play him in the recent M-150 Cup 2017 tournament or the friendly match against Ulsan Hyundai FC. |

| 3. Van Khanh (left from behind) made repeated mistakes in recent Vietnam U23 matches. If Tien Dung recovers from injury, Khanh might have to sit out the AFC U23 Championship finals on account of his form. |
