SEA Games 32: Vietnam wins 15 more golds, climbs to second position

VOV.VN - May 8 saw Vietnamese athletes win an additional 15 gold medals, helping Vietnam jump to second position on the medal tally.

The gold medals were awarded to athletes in karate, Vovinam, gymnastics, Kun Bokator, track-and-field, and swimming.

Notably, Vietnamese athletes bagged six gold medals alone in Kun Bokator, an ancient battlefield martial art of Cambodia, in their first competitions at the regional sport event.

Similarly, Karate artists also brought back six goal medals, exceeding their target of winning just three gold.

As of 9pm, Vietnam won 30 gold, 28 silver and 36 bronze medals, ranking second on the medal tally after hosts Cambodia that bagged 36 gold, 30 silver and 33 bronze medals.
