SEA Games 31 flag raising ceremony due on May 11

VOV.VN - A flag raising ceremony of sports delegations participating in the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) will be held on the morning of May 11 at My Dinh National Sports Complex in Hanoi.

The ceremony will be attended by approximately 400 delegates, including officials and athletes of participating countries, representatives of the 10 Southeast Asian embassies in Hanoi, and reporters of domestic and international press agencies.

Vietnam will play host to the SEA Games 31 from May 12 to 23, with competitions to take place in Hanoi and 11 neighbouring localities.

Though the opening ceremony of the region’s largest sporting event is due on May 12, several sports will begin on May 6, including men’s football, kickboxing and beach handball.

For football, Vietnam will take on Indonesia in Group A opener at Viet Tri stadium in Phu Tho province.
