SEA Games 29: Karate, athletics add golds for Vietnam
Karate and athletics athletes bagged four more gold medals for Vietnam at the ongoing SEA Games 29 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on late August 23.

Runners Vu Thi Ly and Duong Van Thai made a double win and won two gold medals in the women’s and men’s 800m events, respectively.
Vietnam also got the silver medal in the women’s 800m race thanks to Khuat Phuong Anh.
Their team mate Phan Thi Bich Ha, meanwhile, secured a silver medal after finishing her 10 km walk within 52 minutes and 27.78 seconds.
Also on the day, swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien got silver in the women’s 100 m freestyle event and her team mate Hoang Quy Phuoc also brought home a silver medal in the men’s 200 m freestyle event.
Bui Van Su came second in the 1,500m race, bringing his total points in the decathlon event to 6,207, and earned the bronze medal.
Meanwhile, Vu Thi Men won gold in the women's triple jump event with 14.15 metres, and karate artist Ho Thi Thu Hien clinched another gold in the women's below-68kg kumite event after Hien beat her Thai opponent Kanokwan Kwangwong 2 – 0.
The same day, Hien’s teammates, Chu Duc Thinh and Trang Cam Lanh each won a silver medal for their performance in the men’s 75kg and women’s 55kg kumite events, respectively.
