Russian female cyclist wins Biwase Cup 2024
VOV.VN - Natalia Frolova of Russia won the 14th Binh Duong International Women’s Cycling Tournament, the Biwase Cup, which concluded on March 15 in Thu Dau Mot City in the southern province of Binh Duong.
The Russian cyclist had the best overall time of 29 hours two minutes and 19 seconds after 10 stages. She was followed by Gulnaz Khatuntseva also from Russia with a time of 29 hours nine minutes 38 seconds.
In the team rankings, Biwase Binh Duong took the lead, with second and third place going to Loc Troi Group and Thailand, respectively.
The green jersey for the best sprinter was awarded to Maneephan Jutatip of Thailand, while the red jersey went to Kasuga Watabe of Japan. The white jersey as the best young cyclist was given to Lam Thi Thuy Duong of the Vinama Ho Chi Minh City team.
Meanwhile, the orange jersey for the best Vietnamese athlete went to cyclist Nguyen Thi Thu Mai of the An Giang team.
The 14th Binh Duong International Women’s Cycling Tournament was held from March 6 to March 15. The competition drew the participation of 11 domestic and nine foreign teams.
With a total length of 1,158 km, the female cyclists competed in 10 stages, starting from Binh Duong and travelling through to Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
Individuals competed for three jerseys, with the yellow jersey being given to the overall winner with a cash prize of VND45 million. The green for the best sprinter received a cash prize of VND30 million.
In addition, the winning team who ultimately go on to secure the championship trophy were awarded VND42 million.
