| On August 14, Vietnam defeated Pakistan 3-0 in their first match at ASIAD 2018 in Indonesia. |

| Although Cong Phuong missed 2 penalties, the Vietnamese Olympic team took a big win against Pakistan thanks to goals from Quang Hai (21st minute), Van Quyet (41st) and Cong Phuong (72nd). |

| Vietnam took their second win in their next match, beating Nepal 2-0 on August 16. |
