Quyet Chien wins 3-cushion Carom Billiards Tournament in LA

VOV.VN - Leading Vietnamese player and world number three Tran Quyet Chien successfully beat world number 30 Juan Jose Garcia of Colombia to win a 3-cushion Carom Billiards Tournament held in LA in the US from March 17 to March 21.

After facing several challenges posed by the Colombian opponent in the opening minutes, Quyet Chien quickly showed his talent and took a lead of 10-5.

However, Juan Jose Garcia immediately earned six additional points to balance the score at 15-15, with Chien responding to claim seven more points to win the game with a final score of 35-25.

As a result of his win, the Vietnamese billiard ace brought home US$6,000, equal to VND136 million.

Other Vietnamese players participating in the competition such as Nguyen Quoc Nguyen ranked third, earning US$2,500 in prize money, while Anh Chien finished in the top eight and won a sub-prize thanks to an outstanding move that helped him score 15 points.

The tournament served as an excellent warmup for the Vietnamese players before competing at the Las Vegas World Cup 2022, which is expected to take place from March 27 to April 2.
