Quang Hai set to sign for French Ligue 2 side Pau FC

According to sources involved in the deal, the midfielder will undergo a medical at the club before becoming the first ever Vietnamese player to play professionally in France.

First established in 1920, Pau FC finished 10th in Ligue 2, France’s second division, in the 2021 to 2022 season.

According to Quang Hai’s representative, Bernard Laporte-Fray, president of Pau FC, chose to sign the midfield maestro thanks to his creativity and clever style of play. He added that Pau FC had carefully studied a number of videos of Quang Hai’s performances before coming to a final decision.

Prestigious French football newspaper L'Equipe confirmed that the club will sign a two-year contract with the Vietnamese midfielder, with an option of extending it for a further year.

Moreover, French outlet, Sud Ouest had also revealed that there were five football clubs keen on signing Quang Hai, including Dunkerque FC, Metz FC, Nimes FC, Pau FC, and Rodez FC.

After signing for Pau FC, the 25-year-old player will spend a month training to prepare for the 2022 to 2023 season.

Moving forward, the new Ligue 2 season is set to kick off on July 30.
