Players from 11 countries compete at ATF U14 tournament in Binh Duong
VOV.VN - The ATF U14 Asian Tennis Tournament – Becamex Cup 2026 got underway at the tennis complex of the Community Sports Centre in Binh Duong ward, Ho Chi Minh City, on May 11.
The event features the third and fourth legs of the 2026 tournament series and follows two successful U14 tournaments held earlier this year in Ho Chi Minh City.
Part of the official competition system of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), the tournament brings together promising young tennis players from across Asia in the U14 category.
The third tournament stage includes qualifying matches from May 9 to 10 and main draw matches from May 11 to 15. The fourth stage will hold qualifying rounds from May 16 to 17, followed by main draw competition from May 18 to 22.
The competition features four categories: boys’ singles, girls’ singles, boys’ doubles and girls’ doubles.
More than 100 young players from 11 countries and territories are participating, including Indonesia, Japan, India, Republic of Korea, Russia, Hong Kong (China), Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam, alongside invited players from the United States and Finland.
Hosts Vietnam are represented by several promising young players, including Luu Minh Khang of the Army team, To Binh Nhan and To Binh Nhien of Ninh Binh, Nguyen Linh Nhi of Ho Chi Minh City and Dinh Tien Dung of Hanoi.
Organisers said the back-to-back international youth tournaments provide Vietnamese players with valuable opportunities to compete internationally on home soil while also helping improve professional standards and promote the sustainable development of youth tennis in Vietnam.
Holding consecutive tournaments also allows players to maintain competitive rhythm, gain ranking points and accumulate more match experience.
Organisers expressed hope that the experience gained from the tournaments would help young Vietnamese players continue developing and contribute to the long-term growth of Vietnamese tennis on the international stage.
