VOV.VN - Former coach of Vietnamese national football team Park Hang-seo is set to be named as a consultant of newly-established Bac Ninh football club who will play in Vietnamese Football League Second Division for the 2024 season, reported online newspaper VTCNews.

Ngo Quang Truong, former head coach of Song Lam Nghe An FC, will manage the new FC that is now recruiting a number of players for the season.

In 2017, Park was appointed head coach of the Vietnamese national men’s football team. He helped the U23 team reach the finals of the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, finish fourth at the 2018 Asian Games, and bag two gold medals at the SEA Games in 2019 and 2022.

The Korean expert helped the senior team gain outstanding achievements, including winning the 2018 AFF Cup, progressing through to 2019 Asian Cup quarter-finals, and entering 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, final round. He also accomplished his promise to bring Vietnam up into the Top 100 in the FIFA rankings.

Park ended his contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in January 2022. The coach has since not lead any team, but there are rumors that he has had negotiations with Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, although he has denied them all.

Currently, Park is managing a community football academy on the outskirts of Hanoi.
