Over 300 aerobics athletes vie for Asian championship title in Hanoi

VOV.VN - The ninth Asian Aerobics Championship kicked off in Hanoi on June 8, attracting the participation of 316 athletes from 14 countries and territories worldwide.

Yagi Kitagawa Tammy, president of the Aerobic Gymnastics Technical Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation, expressed hope that all athletes would love taking part in the sport and exploring the world of Asian aerobics through the tournament.

Athletes will be competing in 18 categories to vie for 68 sets of medals available in men's and women's singles and doubles, mixed doubles, teams of three and five, and aerobic dance in three age groups of 12 to 14, 15 to 17, and over 18.

Vietnam sent 51 athletes to the tournament who will be competing in all 18 categories.

The Asian tournament is scheduled to last through to June 10.
