No flares at AFF Cup matches: Vietnamese footballers
VOV.VN - Vietnamese football players have called their fans to stop setting off flares at ongoing AFF Cup 2018.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has implemented different measures to tackle the setting off of flares but all their efforts were in vain. |
In the previous match between Vietnam and Malaysia at My Dinh National Stadium, at least 6 flares were set off in the stands by a group of high-spirited Vietnamese fans. |
It took Vietnamese security guards a lot of time to put it under control. |
As a result, VFF could be fined for the fans’ behavior. |
The Vietnam’s national football team could also face off a scenario that no Vietnamese fan is allowed to attend their match. |
The banning of Vietnamese fans at such games might be issued, even when they are hosted in Vietnam. |
Recently, a number of Vietnamese footballers including Quang Hai, Ha Duc Chinh and Bui Tien Dung, shared a Facebook status calling on Vietnamese supporters to stop lighting flares in the upcoming match against Cambodia at Hang Day Stadium on November 24. |
VFF has recently been fined about VND300 million (US$12,500) after a Vietnamese fan lighted flares at the Asiad 2018 semifinal game between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. |
