Nineteen players to compete in International 3-Cushion World Cup
            VOV.VN - A total of 19 billiards players will represent Vietnam at the International 3-Cushion World Cup, scheduled to be held in Gwangju, the Republic of Korea, from November 3 to 9.
      
     
  Tran Quyet Chien is Vietnam’s top hope, having won a silver medal at the 2023 World 3-Cushion Championship.
Another notable Vietnamese player is Tran Thanh Luc, who finished as runner-up at the 2024 World Championship held in Vietnam, losing to Cho Myung-woo of the Republic of Korea. Earlier this year, Luc won the 2025 Bogota World Cup 3-Cushion in Colombia in March.
Bao Phuong Vinh, who claimed a bronze medal at the 2025 World Cup Billiards Antwerp on October 12, is also among the standout Vietnamese participants.
The International 3-Cushion World Cup attracts 150 players from 20 countries worldwide. Based on world rankings, Tran Quyet Chien and Tran Thanh Luc have qualified directly for the main group stage, while Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu, Dao Van Ly, Chiem Hong Thai, and Bao Phuong Vinh will compete in the fourth qualifying round.
From the qualifying stage, organizers will allocate 32 official slots for entry into the final group stage.
Earlier, Vietnam sent five cueists to the World 3-Cushion Championship in Belgium from October 14 to 18, though none reached the tournament’s top four.
