Nine golds put hosts on top at Asian Muay Thai Championship

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese team have won nine gold medals to lead the overall standings at the ongoing 2025 Asian Muay Thai Championship, taking place in Thai Nguyen.

Pham Tan Vang defeated Ming Hei Yip of Hong Kong (China) to clinch gold in the men’s 75kg category.

His victory follows earlier golds by Tran Thi Anh Tuyet in the women’s 75kg, Nguyen Thi Phuong Hau in the 60kg, and Nguyen Thi Chieu and Bui Hai Linh in the 57kg and 51kg divisions, respectively.

Four more titles came from Hoang Khanh Mai and Dinh Thi Hoa in the women’s 45kg and 54kg, along with Nguyen Hoang Minh and Duong Duc Bao in the men’s 57kg and 48kg events.

In addition to the nine golds, the Vietnamese team also secured three silver and five bronze medals.

This is the first time Vietnam has hosted the Asian Muay Thai Championship. The tournament runs through June 27 and brings together hundreds of athletes from 25 countries and territories across Asia.
