New national team shirts for 2021 unveiled

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Grand Sport Group held a ceremony in Hanoi on January 18 to launch the latest home and away kits for the Vietnamese national men’s and women’s football teams this year.

This marks the seventh consecutive year that the company has collaborated with the VFF in order to supply jerseys for the country’s various football teams.

In addition to both the men’s and women’s senior teams, the national youth squads will also wear the kits, including the U16s, U19s, and U23s.

This year’s design draws inspiration from the golden star on the national Vietnamese flag which serves as a symbol for the resilience and solidarity shown by both the country’s players and supporters.

At the ceremony, Grand Sport Group produced an animation clip themed “The heroes are back” in an effort to popularize the new jersey. This is the first time in the Asian region that an animation clip has been used as part of a kit launch.

The 2021 jersey will be worn by various Vietnamese football teams throughout the year, including in significant matches such as qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, qualification for the 2022 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Asian Cup, and the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup.
