Nepal designates Thong Nhat Stadium as home venue against Vietnam in Asian Cup qualifiers

VOV.VN - Nepal has chosen Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City as their home ground for the second-leg match against Vietnam in Group F of the final round of 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on October 14, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced on September 11.

According to the Group F schedule, Vietnam will first host Nepal at Binh Duong Stadium on October 9 before traveling to Ho Chi Minh City for the return fixture. The venue change for Nepal’s home match comes in response to recent domestic instability in their country.

The Vietnamese national team is set to assemble for a training camp in early October to prepare for these crucial matches.

Currently, Vietnam sits second in Group F with three points, trailing leaders Malaysia by three points. The Vietnamese side recorded a 5-0 victory over Laos at Go Dau Stadium but suffered a 0-4 defeat to Malaysia at Bukit Jalil Stadium.

The upcoming back-to-back fixtures against Nepal carry significant weight, as they will determine Vietnam’s chances of securing the group’s sole qualification spot for the 2027 Asian Cup finals.
