Futsal team head to Kuwait for training camp ahead of Asian Cup qualifiers
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s national futsal team departed for Kuwait on September 8 to undergo a short training camp as part of their final preparations for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers due to start on September 20.

Before leaving for the Asian tournament, head coach Diego Giustozzi had shortlisted the squad to 16 players. Four names were crossed out at this stage, including goalkeepers Nguyen Quoc Giau, Chau Thach Khanh Cuong, Ala Doan Minh Man and Tran Nhat Trung.
According to the schedule, the team will train in Kuwait from September 9–14 during which they will play two international friendlies against their hosts Kuwait on September 11 and 13.
These two friendlies will differ in nature from those at the Asian qualifiers, but they provide valuable opportunities for key players such as Duc Hoa and Ngoc Linh who have returned from injury, to regain their international rhythm, while helping others gain more experience, said coach Giustozzi.
Immediately after the training course, Vietnam will head straight to China for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers. Drawn in Group E, the team are scheduled to play Hong Kong (China) on September 20, China on September 22, and Lebanon on September 24.
