Nearly 1,000 runners partake in ASEAN Fun Walk 2023 in HCM City
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) and the Consulate of Indonesia organised ASEAN Fun Walk 2023 on August 12, with the event drawing the participation of approximately 1,000 local and foreign runners.
Upon addressing the event Phan Van Mai, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said the first ASEAN Fun Walk marked the bloc’s 56th founding anniversary after being established in 1967, the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-Indonesia Strategic Partnership which was set up in 2013, and Indonesia’s chairmanship of ASEAN in 2023.
He confirmed that the event will help to promote the ASEAN Community with solidarity, peace, and development.
The occasion was held at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, attracting plenty of citizens of all countries who are working and living in Ho Chi Minh City and nearby provinces.
Most notably, representatives of general consulates of ASEAN member countries, India, Russia, Belarus, and Italy also attended the walk.
