National women’s football team to train in Japan

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese women’s national football team is scheduled to take part in a training camp on April 17 in Japan after returning to the country from Nepal where they competed in the first qualifying round for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

According to the schedule, during their two-week training camp in the Far East country, the national team will face off against three strong Japanese clubs.

This can be considered a warmup for the female players before they compete at SEA Games 32 in Cambodia in May, with the team set to meet Malaysia, Myanmar, and the Philippines in the group stage of the tournament.

This comes after the Vietnamese women’s team beat Nepal 2-0 on April 8, thereby progressing into the second qualifying round for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the second qualifying round, Vietnam and 11 other teams will be divided into three groups to select the three group winners and the second best team who will compete for a place at the Olympics.
