National team members triumph at Run for Peace
Do Quoc Luat and Pham Thi Hue triumphed in the men’s and women’s categories of the 46th Ha Noi Moi Newspaper – Run for Peace held in the capital city on September 29.

Luat, a member of the national team, won the men’s race that circuited Hoan Kiem Lake five times over 8,750m.
It is the fifth time that Luat, who is also a member of the military team, has topped the podium.
He was followed by Vu Van Son from northern Ninh Binh province and Le Trung Duc of central Thanh Hoa province.
Hue from northeastern Quang Ninh province, also a national team runner, won the women’s race of 5,250m - three laps - around the lake.
Her teammate Doan Thu Hang came second while Ngo Thi Khanh Ny from northern Thai Binh province finished third.
The organisers also presented 10 gold medals for different categories including students, workers and foreigners.
This year saw a record of more than 400,000 participants in the qualifying rounds. On September 29, nearly 1,500 athletes, including more than 360 foreigners, ran in the final round.
About 50 million VND (2,200 USD) collected from the tournament has been donated to the city’s Fund for the Poor.
