National team holds first training session ahead of World Cup 2022 qualifier
VOV.VN - The Vietnam men’s national football team took part in their first training session in Hanoi on August 27 ahead of their opening fixture in the Asian zone’s second qualifying round for the World Cup 2022 against Thailand.

| Not long after meeting up, the players from the national team took part in a training session in the capital city in preparation for their upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifier. |

| With Hanoi FC competing in the AFC Cup Inter-Zonal semi-finals, the team were without several members including Quang Hai, Hung Dung, Van Kien, Thanh Chung, and Duy Manh. Cong Phuong is to fly from Belgium directly to Thailand to join up with the Vietnamese team on September 2. |

| Head coach Park Hang-seo is hopeful that Doan Van Hau and Nguyen Trong Hoang will recover from their injuries in time to compete in the opening match of the qualifiers against Thailand. |
