National table tennis champs reaches thrilling finale

VOV.VN - The 38th National Table Tennis Championships concluded at Ho Xuan Huong competition hall in Ho Chi Minh City on July 19, with a diverse range of prizes being presented.

A total of 500 matches have been played throughout the tournament in a range of different categories during the six-day competition.

The event successfully has attracted 178 athletes from 19 teams nationwide, the largest of its kind so far, with the aim of seeking fresh Vietnamese talents who can go on to represent the country at international tournaments, including the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2021 to be held in Vietnam.

In the men’s singles, Nguyen Duc Tuan of VICEM HT Hai Duong claims the gold medal.

The organisers present prizes for the winners in the women’s singles category. Mai Hoang My Trang of Ho Chi Minh City grabs a gold medal after enjoying a narrow victory over Nguyen Thi Nga of Hanoi in the final game.

Que Dinh Nguyen, deputy editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan newspaper, congratulates all of the athletes competing in the female team category, including the Ho Chi Minh City 1 team winners.
