National men’s football team rise one place in FIFA rankings
VOV.VN -Vietnam’s national men’s football team have climbed one spot to 98th place, despite not playing a match in the previous month.

Accordingly, Vietnam still retains its position as the top team in Southeast Asia and 16th in Asia with a total of 1227 points.
This is followed by Palestine and India who have 1224 and 1219 points, ranking 99th and 101st respectively.
Meanwhile, Jordan ranked in 15th position for teams in Asia with 1229 points, two points higher than Vietnam.
Iran took the top spot for teams in Asia with 1516 points, followed by Japan with 1494 points and the Republic of Korea with 1462 points. Among the other top five nations in Asia are Australia with 1441 points and Asian cup winners Qatar with 1398 points.
Thailand are currently 114th in the world rankings with 1174 points, moving up one place. During March, the Thai team enjoyed two victories over China and Uruguay at the China Cup 2019 tournament.
By being ranked as the 16th best team in Asia, the national team has been seeded ahead of the draw for the start of qualification for the 2022 World Cup. Vietnam are not scheduled to play any friendly games during April and May.
In June, the national team is due to play two matches at the King's Cup 2019 in Thailand, the results of which will contribute to the team’s FIFA ranking.
